Hey, I really love the punk discography. The problem no offense is that the site design is pretty awful. The backgrounds clash and it's loaded with adds. I'm pretty decent at website building and design, I've done a few sites for local bands here in the Bay Area. If you want, I can whip together a good site with all the scans you have done and information but with none of the awkward backgrounds and ads. I'm willing to pay for the domain name but we need to find a good web hosting solution but it shouldn't be too bad. I don't have a job right now and I owe my mom a ton of money so I can't pay for the hosting but if anyone is up for it, should be like 10-15$ a month, we can make the site look great.

I think I got something.
A mate of mine is a super computer guy and said he can come up with a really simple system for this site.
We sort out the design (or Phil does) and he will arrange all the other stuff, i.e. some coding, and a simple way to upload images and some other technical crap that I don't understand.
He will also do the hosting etc, for nada.
But we need to toss him some money, for the coding and work.
So if we all throw in together, we can get this properly rocking!

It could still do with a good front page to the website Sorry Lyndon! I haven't got time to sort that one out yet  It's been hectic latelly. I'll run the site for a bit longer as the new one will take a while to get started... and I'll put links to the new one when needed. I might use your startpage at least for a while then Lyndon. But first - the 5000 gig this weekend and back home i take a look at it next week. There are a lot of unfinished bands left cause of the amount of records, pressings etc released by them. Mainly major bands as Varukers, Discharge, Subhumans, Adicts and other still going strong bands. And the design does not to be supercool either, I think the information is most important, but the one I made in 5 minutes which also get fucked up in firefox etc is just great if getting better. |

I got some mate of mine whole is going to create some code for a web page that will be specific to what the site needs.
he does some pretty serious coding, his aim is to make it really easy for people (with the proper log in details) to add info, think wiki meets a spread sheet. so we should be able to veiw thing by band, release date, label, catalogue number etc etc
So! basically, though alot will probably need to be uploaded, This could be the SUPER definitive UK82 site.
The stuff this guy is offering is wicked cool.
I can get him in touch with Phil for whatever is needed to coordinate between art & coding.
I think the basic add info page would probably be similar to the MySpace bulletin type thing.
So all html ready etc etc.
after speakintg to my mate, I'm well chuffed about this!

Yeah we found a place nearby the concerts, hopefully we will get there in time before they close 01.00... But thanks for the offer!  Im mostly going to see the rest of the bands. + I can't see anything wrong by Steve Ignorant making this. so - it wasn't that easy at it looks like, right? well. if you think you can do this in 2 weeks, why don't start tomorrow? I've spent years of collecting info and compiling stuff for the site, so any more complaints of the site looking like shit with browsers for retards will only get the answer 'and what have you done yourself for making this site?'. A big *Thank You!* to all of You who helped me out so far with scans, info, cheering me up, giving me surprising emails, nude pictures, porn spam etc etc... You know who You are and if You deserve it! Thanks!! I do have a life to live and a boring fucking slavery job to take care of first and also some other interests that might take some time away from me sitting in front of the computer making html for the site that no-one as you say will like anyway. so - I'll do what the fuck I like in the future with it, do what you like yourself, make a new one, check someone elses site, eat shit and die, i dont give a shit anyway... but- i'll continue as i've been doing this until now. making some stuff for the site when feeling like its time to. i'm not giving up yet. even though my damn computer gave up with all my music  so - no more soulseeking I guess... it looks like the battery, harddrive, networkcard, wireless network, one memorycard, motherboard gave up at the same time. lucky me... well i'm used to it, i lived with this fucking unlucky life since '76  |
