I have the Four Sore Points 7" in 3 different versions. Clear vinyl Dose Records white labels (made in england) DOSE 001
Black vinyl Dose Records yellow labels (made in Gt. BRITAIN) DOSE 001 (DGS 11)
and the reissue on rondelet with darker cover.
Which of the DOSE versions came first and does anyone know the pressing run? I've read 500 copies somewhere about the clear one, and in some interview somewhere i've read it was made in 5000 copies, didn't state if it was in total or anything including the Rondelet pressing.
anyone?

I remember seeing an interview in a Punk Lives issue in which a band member said there were 500 pressed on Dose, but it didn't give a breakdown on how many were clear/white label and how many were black/yellow label. Seems weird for a tiny label to have run two types of labels for a small run of one single, and odd too that they even could afford a clear pressing. (But Anti-Pasti were pretty heavy marketers in their time, when they weren't busy ripping off the Epileptics - I've got old embroidered patches, a Last Call 81 tour pin, and I've seen an "Another Dead Soldier" tour shirt on Ebay go for $40 US) Maybe one was intended for export to other UK countries? That might account for one being "made in GB" and one "made in UK".

ive seen the clear one more often than the black one. but it might be cause i searched for a clear copy at the time. but when finding a black version for £2 i couldnt resist a 3rd copy ;D

Apparently, Anti Pasti ripped of the Epileptics' "Two Years Too Late" song. There is something about it on the Epileptics "Last Bus To Debden" EP cover, headed "Pasti caring".
If you haven't got that EP, I'll put it on here for you.

which version? there are at least 3 different covers, i think i scanned 2 of them on the last RBAF forum.
I think it says something about Pasti covered the song cause they liked it and Epileptics were folded at the time, but they never mentioned it was an Epileptics song on the cover, and Flux OPI got pissed and released the Last Bus To Debden e.p.
I can check what it says later

I'll finish this one with the anti pasti articles from Sounds on the inside of my 2 e.p's:
(Sounds January 24, 1981 page 60) DEAR SPIDER LEGHEADS (Letters, January 3) although Anti-Pasti have recorded the track two years too late, Their ex-manager (Dave Direktor) gave our lead singer the lyrics and said it was alright to record it, as the Epi-X had split and would no longer be playing the number. All credit to Epi-X (Flux Of Pink Indians) for writing a good number. Thanks for the photo and the publicity (any publicity is good publicity). But since that photo the band has aquired a new drummer and bassist. Kev, Lo****** Pete on behalf of Anti******* (**** - can't see what it says, probably originally red or dark grey background which turned black when copied)
(Sounds march 21, 1981 page 52) For a couple of weeks a minor controversy flapped around in Sounds letters pages concerning alleged pirating of material from other Derby based outfits. A now defunct group gave a demo tape to Pasti, and after the split they decided to cover the song themselves, as they liked it. Our spaghetti punks had no idea the other unit had reformed, and weren't informed on nasty details like copywriting - so pure accident stirred that storm. Apologies to any aggrieved parties from the band, and I hope the subject's now closed! Wasn't pursuing punk a touch

Thanx for the story, I have this EP on tape, and didn't know the details of this story.
