There are two different RECORDINGS and TRACK LISTING as well ! The band being unsatisfied with the first batch of copies (500 ?), they decided to re-record it. Was this your question ? There are different pressings of the LP with different artworks too...even a french issue...Some have the design with people running, the other have the b & w face.

it's simple,if you see a copy go for 200$,that's the 1st press, all the others are no more worthy than 10$,the design with the people running is the first press

the design with the people running is the first press Well, I didn't explain well. THere are two different covers with a running crowd. The first one shows a huge mob running from a street above ; the second pressing has the same sort of picture but from a different point of view (the crowd is coming from the left side, and the 'Youth Brigade' graffiti is on the RIGHT side. I was wrong, there's been 800 copies pressed of the original BYO #2. The reissue is BYO 2-R.

I've a mint copy of the original with insert. If I could put scans up I would do so but I can't I've seen at least two other pressing for this lp with one being from the UK. The UK version has a totally different cover from the U.S. versions. The first pressing is recorded at Mystic Sound Studios July 1982 by byo/doug moody. The other pressings are recorded at Perspective Sound Studios March - April 1983 with no help from doug moody (which is a good thing!). The production of sound quality is very different on both versions. The 1st press cover is all black/grey/white with no other colours. It has a crowd walking down the midle of a street with houses on either side. To the left of the sleeve some guy is beeing arrested by cops for painting Youth Brigade on a house wall. There is a large white "Sound & Fury" just below the crowd. The lyric insert is very different also. I'm sure the second U.S. press had "youth brigade sound & fury" printed in red with a large face on the back cover in red black and white. The back of the 1st pressing is all black with white track listing byo logo etc. Both presses are worth picking up as there are songs on the second press that aren't on the first and vice versa as Raf mentioned. Sink With California only appeared on the second and later pressings for one example. To make things really crazy I'm sure the first press has just recently been booted with original tracks and sleeve artwork. I haven't seen one as yet so be careful when parting with your hard earned.

THere is a 7" bootleg with half the first version of this LP on it. Same artwork (thx for describing it Jim, my english had reached its limits !)...Much more punk/Oi ! oriented music...Great stuff...I am looking for this first version for years, so if you want to part with it Jim, I'm your man Good laugh about Doug Moody, btw :-D He produced great bands but rarely made them justice...if I dare to say.
