Change your timezone in your profile and you can see the times that posts were made relative to your own timezone. This way I now understand that Jim WASN'T up at 4:00am making posts.

When you sign in, look at the little icon to the left of each board name. if it's got a blue dot in it, that means there is a new post in there since you last logged in. Go into the board, and you'll see a "new" icon next to each modified thread. Also, at the bottom of the home screen, there is a link to "View the 10 most recent posts of this forum". You may find that useful.
