ATTILA THE STOCKBROKER

EARLY NEWS 2005
Firstly, one last thankyou to everyone who helped ‘Seagulls Ska’ to Number 17 in the UK top 40 chart in January, getting us huge amounts of national publicity in our campaign for Brighton and Hove Albion FC’s new stadium. The final part of the public enquiry (it’s taken 4 years!!) started yesterday. To date the single has sold over 5000 copies and not just to football fans....cheers! If you bought it I hope you enjoyed ‘Roll Up For The Donkey Derby.’ Ee-aw!
To celebrate, we have a special gig TOMORROW (Friday February 4) at the Offside Bar, 271-273 City Road, Islington, London (nearest tube Angel) where Seagulls Ska will play all the tracks from the single and there will also be sets from the band’s component parts – my band Barnstormer, superb Brighton skasters Too Many Crooks and The Fabulous Fish Brothers. Hope to see some of you there..it will be a special night!
Off to Germany on tour with Barnstormer next week. Loads more gigs booked and/or in the pipeline: see below.
My first solo DVD, ‘Live at the Heartland Café’, recorded in Chicago during my March 2004 US tour with David Rovics, is now available from my PO Box or via Townsend Records on the website www.attilathestockbroker.com
Glastonwick 2005, our 10th Anniversary Beer, Music, Poetry and More Beer Festival, is set for June 3-5 and you can see the line up here (I think it’s the best one ever!) www.cask-ale.co.uk/beerfestival.html
In June I’m doing another tour with David Rovics from the US: booking now! If you want to put us on, in the UK, Holland or Germany, please get in touch ASAP. I’ll also be back in St. Pauli for the 15th Anniversary of the FC St Pauli Fan Shop....
In July, very much hoping to make a long awaited return to Canada.
And then, on September 8th 2005, it is 25 years to the day that I did my FIRST EVER gig as Attila the Stockbroker (at Bush Fair Playbarn, Harlow, Essex, supporting The Unborn Dead, The Condemmed – two M’s – and The De-Fex...) Special celebrations will be in order! Watch this space...
In late September/early October I’ll be taking Barnstormer over to mainland Europe for Attila’s 25th Anniversary Tour.....if you would like to put us on in Germany/Austria/Switzerland/Italy/France/Holland (or indeed anywhere else!) please let me know as soon as possible.
And roughly to coincide with this, I am currently writing a book about 25 years travelling the world as a punk rock poet...
Cheers everyone!
